What is the NEBOSH National General Certificate?
The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health is a level 3 qualification. It will allow you to apply for Technician membership (TechIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
It will also allow you to apply for Associate membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). The course is in 2 parts, GCI (Management of Health and Safety) and GC2 (Controlling Workplace Hazards).
The NEBOSH International Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Professionals (often called the NEBOSH Diploma) is a leading, advanced (level-6)qualification for professionals. It replaced the NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety in April 2021.

NVQ Level 6 Diploma
The NVQ level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Practice is completely evaluated by each candidates’ competency.
Evidence of your competency is based on real world, on-the-job training. You can even use your historic records as evidence to contribute towards your NVQ qualification.
There is no exam or classroom time for the NVQ Level 6. You will generate evidence that will be signed off and approved by your assessor. Once you have fulfilled all of the requirements, set down by Pro Qual, one of our internal verifiers will check your work and sign it off as complete. You will then be awarded the qualification.
The NVQ 6 must be completed within 24 months, but typically takes about 12 months to complete.
OTHM Level 6 Diploma
The Level 6 qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety are developed to provide learners who have or are looking to develop into a senior role in an organisation for managing health and safety policy and practice. Learners will gain the skills and knowledge to understand the legal and regulatory background to occupational health and safety policy, to be able to assess policies, as well as to recommend and implement policy changes. Learners will develop knowledge and skills relevant to putting policy into practice, utilizing management systems, resources, risk and incident management, leadership, management and skills development.
Individuals successfully completing the diploma qualification will be eligible to apply for the Graduate level of membership Grad IOSH.
